March musings

Hmmm. It's a while since I blogged. Hubby and I have been painting a unit that has been rented for the last 12 years (hence the need to paint!!), so 3 days of each week for the last 3 weeks we have been going to Perth (92km door to door). We are a bit slack - have lots of cups of tea and "just pop down the shop for .......", so it is taking us longer than necessary, but it's getting done. We "camp" while we are there. Mattresses on the floor and a camp table and chairs to eat off. Of course we have a TV, albeit an old one, and I always take some sewing and knitting and an Otto light for my sewing cos we dont work at night. Next week we will finish the painting and organize for some new carpet for the lounge and lino for the kitchen/dining area. Then I think we will be almost done.

When I'm home I have been doing a little patchwork. Usually only get time to do it at night. I'm almost ready to start machine quilting one of my quilts. I'm building up to it .... :-) cant rush these things.

I'm also trying to clean up my sewing room a bit cos I want to move to a larger room. Oh boy. It's a case of one step forward and two steps back. I start clearing out one section and find an unfinished project (UFO or PHD ... UnFinsihed Object, or Project Half Done) and think "Oh, I could just do that and it would be finished!" and spend the next couple of hours working on that instead of cleaning up my room. But, I am getting a few more things finished, so it's not all bad. The other thing is, I want to paint the new room before I move, so that means cleaning out that room too.

Hubby is out for the rest of the day, so I think I'll get in and clean out some more of my room - while he's not here to see just how much stuff I really have. I'm trying to get myself organised as per Bonnie Hunter on her htpp://www.quiltville.com site - Organising the Stash I think it is, or maybe Taming the Stash!

Till next time,
Faye.
