development blunders

Its been a while since I wrote, but that doesnt mean that nothing has been happening ...

Have I mentioned that across the road they are constructing a housing development. It's in the early stages at the moment, meaning they have ripped out all the beautiful big trees (sob, sob) and at the moment its a mess where they are moving huge amounts of earth from one place to the next, the then moving it again to yet another place - at least that's what it seems. Hopefully, one day it will look beautiful again, albeit houses instead of trees!!

Anyhow, just after we got home from our prospecting trip, the water went off. Sure enough they had spiked a water main and we were the ones out of water. No-one came to tell us anything - the water just stopped! When we went out to the road, the water Corp were already there trying to fix it. We were "waterless" for about 3 hours.

About a week later our power went off. No-one came to tell us. We walked out to the road to see what was going on and finally someone came over and admitted they had cut the line to our powerpole. They had called the SEC (or whatever they call it now) and they were on their way. This happened at 12.30pm. About 3pm the SEC guy came in to tell us that when the line snapped, it pulled on our powerpole and damaged the conduit covering the line to the metre box (I think thats what it was anyhow) and he couldnt re-connect the power until an electrician had repaired our pole. So, we rang and finally got an electrician that we know to fix it. The guy had given Adam (husband) his mobile No to ring when the electrician had finished. The power finally came back on at 5.30pm.

I said to hubby "About all that could happen now is the phone to be cut off."

Guess what?!!! Sure enough we get up Saturday morning and Adam turns on the computer to check his email - no connection. The phone line is cut. No-one came to tell us. I had to go out and Adam went to visit our son and when I got home about 2.30pm it was fixed. But, NO-ONE CAME TO TELL US ANYTHING!

I dont think there is anything else that they can cut off. I hope not.
